House Fire In the Chaddwyck Development

On April 25, 2020 Engine 28 responded to a residential fire in the unit block of westbury dr in Chaddwyck reported to be a basement fire. Engine 28 arrived as the First Due Engine, Reverse Laying to establish Water Supply with an initial report of a two story single family dwelling with no conditions. After opening the door into the residence, crews encountered black smoke, low-to-no visibility and high heat conditions. Working simultaneously with Christiana Fire Company Engine 12 & Tower 12 crew’s made quick work to find the steps of the basement locating a fire in a bedroom located in the Charlie Side of the basement. Crews worked on scene for approximately 2hrs.
